• The 2008 Governor's School applications are now online and may be downloaded by going to the Department Of Education's web site at www.tennessee.gov/education/govschools.
  
• The Arts application may be downloaded at the MTSU web site at www.gsfta.org
• There are a few revisions to the 2008 application. There will be three new schools. Please refer to the application for more information. The Arts application deadline date is different from the other schools.
• You are urged to submit applications as they are completed rather than waiting for the deadline dates. If an application is submitted late, a letter from your principal explaining the situation should be sent to the school director asking them to consider the application. You may want to consider overnight mail.
• Governor's Schools will once again be five weeks. All schools will not start at the same time. Starting dates were selected by Universities and will coincide with the beginning dates for summer school and the availability of lodging. Some high schools may still be in session when some Governor's Schools open; however, in order to provide six hours of credit to your scholars, it is necessary to adhere to these starting dates.
