Our Own Counselor of the Year
We would like to congratulate Mrs. Judy Roberts for winning counselor of the year! She is a great asset to our school and community! We were able to get some insight into Mrs. Robert's accomplishments.
"After graduation from high school and I had no clue of what I wanted to pursue. Six years later after being a stay-at home mom, I decided to put an application in for a school bus driving job. The thing I most enjoyed about driving the bus was getting to know the students and interacting with them. As a result of my bus driving experience, I began college part time. I first began my studies in home Economics and later changed over to elementary education. After four years, I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics and Early Childhood Education. That same year, I was hired as a math and science teacher in fourth grade at Hollow Rock / Bruceton Special School District. I remained in that position for seventeen years. I stayed in the classroom until 1996 when I became a counselor at Huntindon Middle School for grades four through eight."
"My goal is to promote and enhance the learning process of all students based on the Tennessee Standards. Consultation with parents, teachers, other educators and counselors is stressed in my program. As a counselor my ambition has always been to be a good role model for the students and through my efforts be able to help the students make positive life choices and some day become productive citizens in the community and elsewhere."
