        Physical Education Program

           Teacher: Alan Eubanks

           Assistant: Denise Chaney
The physical education program at the Huntingdon

Primary School has two primary goals for our students,

fun and success. The students learn many different skills

and games throughout the year with every child experiencing

success in each area. We strive to build self-esteem and

confidence in our students. In the younger grades the

primary focus is developing the locomotor skills--running, jumping,

skipping, hopping, leaping, galloping, and sliding. Locomotor

skills form a strong foundation for more complex skills and

games as each student grows and develops. Another important

concept is learning the importance of organization, following,

rules, and safety. We encourge all children to be physically fit
and to participate in many different activities to promote physical activity. Some of the activities we encourage include stretching, running, games and free play. Physical Education should be a fun experience for every child and we give our best effort to make this possible at HPS.
